Sippy cups - using it 100% of the time

When did you switch over from bottles to sippy cups? And how long did it take? I shoudl have added my DS is 13 mths and I want to transition him completely. His daycare teacher (older, grandma type) said I shoudl wait. I don't wnat to wait - DS is a stubborn kid.

Re: Sippy cups

my girls starting using sippys at around 6 months. My oldest was completely off bottles at 12 months and my youngest was off them by 11 months. Neither cared at the time about where they got there milk from so we got rid of bottles before they got attached.

Re: Sippy cups

I think we started around 7 months or so giving DD water in a sippy.

Are you asking about introducing a sippy cup or permanently changing over to a sippy cup and getting rid of bottles?

Re: Sippy cups - using it 100% of the time

My DD is 13 months also and our ped said that we should have her off the bottle by 18 months. So we are starting to slowly transition her to milk in a sippy cup. Before she would only get water or diluted juice in her sippy cup (which we started around 5 months).
