SIRM/Dr. T patients that have Empire Plan (united health care- teacher)
SIRM is obviously different than my last dr. practices- they were center of excellence and I didn't have to pay any co-pays. my meds were also covered under my script portion of insurance. Yes I was lucky to have and I am grateful but obviously the outcome has been negative so far.
anyone have any info about costs of IVF of SIRM using Empire. I know they don't cover full costs but was monitoring covered minus co-pays? was meds covered through script insurance? making sure I know all about costs up front before I begin a future cycle.
TIA!!

All my meds were covered. I paid a copay each visit only. I think it was 60 though. 20 for dr, 20 for sono and 20 for bloodwork. Could've been 40 though. Sorry can't remember. Other than that my insurance covered everything and the amount deducted from my allowance was actually less than the center of excellence i was with before. I guess SIRMs contracted rate was less. This was 2 1/2 years ago so I'm not sure if anything changed.

SIRM/Dr. T patients that have Empire Plan (united health care- teacher)
Just did my first cycle with Dr. T two months ago. Monitoring was just a $20 or $40 copay each time, depending on what was done. And I just logged into myuhc.com to check and embryo retrieval day was just $40 owed too. SIRM was paid about $4200 for ER day so I believe that's the only part that goes against the 50k coverage.

Thanks so much for info. that's what I wanted to know more of retrieval day fees . Was anesthesia covered? $4200? That seems less than RMAor RS of NY!!

I checked the EOBs again and didn't see anything for anesthesia. ER was Jan 18th so I'm not sure if the bill isn't there yet or what. The day of ER was the very icy Sunday and the anesthesiologist scheduled totaled their car on the way in and Dr T called someone from Columbia who came over to fill in.
