Sitters - How Much$
What is the going rate for a sitter? I am going to have a HS age neighbor watch DS for a few hours a week and want to be fair.

The sitter I know charges $10 for 1 kid and $12 for 2 or more kids (per hour).

We pay our sitter $40 minimum for up to 4 hours, then after 4 hours $10/hour. We have 2 kids.

3 kids and we pay her $10 per hour. I always give her a little bit more since I have so many. It works out to $12 an hour.

I pay my niece $10/hour. I always round up.
For non relatives, I've been charged $11/hour by the daycare teachers.
I have 2 kids.

I have 2 kids (2 and 4) and we pay $13/hour. When I had just 1, we paid $10/hour. She is now in college but started with us when she was still in HS. She commutes to college (so still sits for us all year long). She started college the same time we had a 2nd baby so her rates went up then.

We pay $15/hour for 2 kids. but she's a certified teacher...HS I would think would be lower.
