Sitting up unassisted

When was DC able to sit up unassisted? Right now Bella sits up great with support, she can sit up in her boppy pillow too. I tried letting her sit without support today and she could only do it for a little while (few seconds maybe). When do they sit up on their own? I think she will like her toys much better when she can sit up more.

Re: Sitting up unassisted

My DD was on the later side but she started doing it for longer stretches of time (w/o toppling over or to the side) at 6 months.

Re: Sitting up unassisted

DS is 5 1/2 months and can't do it. He can sit a little using his arms for support, but once he moves his head he topples. I'll let you know when he gets there! Chat Icon

Re: Sitting up unassisted

a few days shy of 5 months Kaitee could do it. Chelsea is 3 1/2 months and she can do it for about 2 minutes at a time.

Caden just started...every day it's more and more. Last week at this time he didnt know to put his hands down to stop him from falling over..today he can. He can sit up with a straight back for about a minute or so...and if he is playing with something in his lap he can sit up for a long time. Usually until he gets tired.

He is 5 1/2 months.
