Six months ago...
I saw your face for the first time and felt a love that overwhelmed my soul. I heard you cry and I cried. Then your dad looked at me and told me that you were the most beautiful thing he has ever seen. I remember when you first opened your eyes and I saw my new future flash before me. At that moment I knew, nothing would ever be the same. My life would not be mine anymore, my life would be you. I willingly gave up my life when you wrapped your tiny hand around my finger. I was in love. I remember holding you close and smelling you. You smelled like heaven. The first night of your life I promised to love you forever and I thanked God for you.
You are my miracle, my blessing, my love, my life. I cannot remember my life before you came into it. I am forever grateful to you for keeping me grounded, for showing me that playing peek a boo is more important than vacuuming.
Gracie, all I know is that I never knew what love was until I held you. Thank you for teaching me what love is. Thank you for teaching me that no matter what I pursue in life, MOMMY is the most important title I will ever hold.
