skiing in upsate NY
Can anyone recommend a nice skiing/logging place in upstate NY that is not to far away?? Also it must be accommodation for a 7 year old

I would go to the poconos rather than upstate NY, and its pretty much the same distance. Hunter doesnt have that many hotel rooms and is very crowded.
Camelback is about 2 hours from the city in PA, there are tons of hotels with indoor pools, and they have a lot of easy mountains.

I don't know if it has to be in NY, but Brodie (Mass) is 3-5 hours away. Small mountain - and not very crowded.

camelback is the ski resort.
I think the town is Tannersville, PA.
and Shawnee is nearby as well. I think that town is Stroudsburg.

Windham. It's about 2 1/2-3 hours away and much more family-oriented than Hunter Mountain (can't stand that place).

I would do Wyndham over going to Gore Mountain, it's too far....over 3 1/2 hours...

I was just looking at hunter mnt web site I dont even like how that looks
Is whndham.. the type of resort (if there is even one like this) that the ski slope are right there or do you have to travel to get to them? that is the kind of place I am looking for
