Skipping ahead to the last page of a book
Does anyone read the last page of a book to see what happens? I have to admit I do this all the time. I just had a discussion with a co-worker, who was horrified when I told him that. I'm impatient...I like to know whats going to happen, and I dont want to wait. Just wondering if this is something that other people do too...

No! Never! I even cover paragraphs as I get closer to the end so I don't skip ahead.

I do, all the time. People are always horrified when they find out, but for ME, it doesn't make the story any less enjoyable.

Re: Skipping ahead to the last page of a book
I have a bizarre variation of this. I don't read the entire last page, just the very last sentence of a book.
I know, it's strange but I ALWAYS do it.

I only do it when I find the book frustrating and I just want to know it gets somewhere.

I never do this.....with only the exception of when I didn't finish a book that I struggled to get through/didn't enjoy for my book club.

Re: Skipping ahead to the last page of a book
i only do when I can't get into the book and am going to stop reading it anyway. I usually give a book 100 pages, before i give up on it. then i skip to the end to at least find out what happens

Re: Skipping ahead to the last page of a book
I hate skipping to the complete end, but I def skip to later parts of the book to get an idea as to what is going to happen. It just makes reading that much more enjoyable.

I don't do it. This thread just made me think of When Harry Met Sally, how Harry always did this

I do this too! If something really interesting is happening in the book - I will cover some of it up so my eyes don't wander!

Re: Skipping ahead to the last page of a book
OMG - I JUST did this the other day!!! I NEVER skip ahead and I NEVER EVER read the backs of books, or the jackets.
But for some reason - I read the entire last chapter!!!
I love the book so far too!!! The Story of Edgar Sawtelle...
I felt so naughty doing it...

Re: Skipping ahead to the last page of a book
Never!!
The author writes the story so you learn things in a certain order. To me, knowing then outcome of a story would completely ruin the journey you take to get there.
