Re: Skirt Steak

My fave marinade for skirt and flank steak is...

pour some EVOO over it and then sprinkle Splenda on the steak (both sides)...put it in a ziplock with some soy sauce and dried onion flakes and let sit overnight

Re: Skirt Steak

this is my favorite steak marinade:

Soy Garlic Steak
INGREDIENTS
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
2 tablespoons ketchup
2 tablespoons crushed garlic
1 1/2 pounds flank steak
DIRECTIONS
In a small bowl, mix vegetable oil, soy sauce, vinegar, ketchup, and crushed garlic. Place flank steak in a large resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over steak. Seal, and marinate in the refrigerator at least 3 hours.
Preheat grill for high heat.
Oil the grill grate. Place steaks on the grill, and discard marinade. Cook for 5 minutes per side, or to desired doneness.

The marinade was delish!
However, I thought I had splenda left over from my Atkins days and I guess someone used it so I just used sugar instead. I had a Bj's size package of meat so I put the rest in ziplocks with the marinade in the freezer Chat Icon

The ONLY thing was that one side of the meat was a little tough or grizzly as I call it, maybe it was just a bad cut... or I should have trimmed it...
either way nothing went to waste! LOLChat Icon

Re: Skirt Steak

Yes, it defintely needs to be trimmed

Also, if you poke holes in the meat before marinated that usually helps

And, always slice against the grain Chat Icon
