Sleeping Advice needed DESPERATELY
SO.....with out slow prgress on not swaddling my DS pretty much sleeps without being swaddled.
My problem now is that he wakes up every hour. I am getting up and just repositioning him and giving him the paci. He relatively falls back to sleep pretty easy. But doing this EVERY HOUR is starting to take its effect on me.
What can i do to help this lil one sleep ????

Do you go to him immediately? Can you try waiting a minute to see if he will reposition himself and go back to sleep.

i have...sometimes (although RARELY) he will go back. But the majority of the time he starts looking around, then playing with his face and crib, then he starts trying to sit up (although he can't do this just yet). And then starts crying

Re: Sleeping Advice needed DESPERATELY
Do you use a sleep positiner? I just stopped swaddling DS, it took about a week, but I think the positioner helped keep him "tight".

why do you reposition him? i wonder if a positioner would help and give him the feeling of being swaddled?

Because the only way he sleeps unswaddled is on his side. He WILL NOT sleep on his back

Try putting something under his tushie it helps them from sliding down as much.

Re: Sleeping Advice needed DESPERATELY
Sleeping on his side should be fine. I would leave him alone for a minute as a PP said and see if he can settle down himself.
DS wakes up frequently at night, or thrashes around a bit. If he isn't crying strongly, I let him go for a minute or so. He usually settles himself back down again.

does he sleep on his belly now at all? As soon as Jack started belly sleeping (at 6 months) was when I finally started to get decent sleep

Re: Sleeping Advice needed DESPERATELY
I thought my baby had to be swaddled tight and snug on a recline with a positioner... WISH I had my receipt b/c she rather spread her arms and legs FLAT!! Try that, sometimes not trying so hard works....as for the paci, its sounds like is he is not in a deep sleep. He knows when it falls out...

Re: Sleeping Advice needed DESPERATELY
Dont go to him the second he cries. Crying is normal.
I would wait at least 5 minutes every time.
I bet 50% of the time he goes back down.
Its gonna take a while, but if your consistent with it for a week or two, he should go back to normal. Its about routine I think.
Also, Try the side..He can flip back if he wants to.
Even the stomach.
He rolls right?
He can reposition himself if he is uncomfortable.
