Re: sleeping in swing???

I'm not sure, but I know around 7 months my brother put his daughter to sleep in the soothing motions chair (it swings side to side but is low to ground) when she had a cold (the seat was inclined). The ped. told them to do that. I don't know how much age matters. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
I hope things get better.

Re: sleeping in swing???

Lily spent many nights in the swing as an infant...she eventually grew out of it with no obvious side effects!
Is there a way to get him to fall asleep not in the swing? It can be scary for a baby to fall asleep in one place and wake up in another. Imagine how you'd feel if someone picked you up and put you in a different spot when you were sleeping!
How long do you let him sleep before you try to take him out? We used to let Lily sleep for an hour or two before we'd move her (ever so gently) into her crib.

We've been trying this with no success....even if we let him go for two hours in the swing ....the second we put him in the crib, he screams...the weird thing is...he was sleeping in the crib just fine....I'm just worried he doesn't have alot of room in the swing and I'm not sure how to break this habit, if I need to at this point....

Re: sleeping in swing???

its fine...Ds Slept in there till he was almost 7 months old. Our Ped said it was fine. It was harder to transition him to the crib...but do what you need to do to get sleep IMO.
