Sleeping position
I know it best to sleep on your Left side, but I am having trouble adjusting to it. I'm much more comfortable on either my back or my right side. I am 17 weeks 4 days today. When do I really need to switch sides?

Re: Sleeping position
I know plenty of people who never really switched... when you get to the point where you really need to switch, I would just sleep however I could! Think about all the women many years ago who knew nothing of this (like our mothers), we are all fine! don't sweat it...

Re: Sleeping position
I agree...while it is recommended you sleep on your left side...plenty of women can only sleep on their right sides or backs. Sleep however you are most comfortable!

Re: Sleeping position
I've been taking turns through the night sleeping on my left side and my right. I can't just sleep on one side all night because my body aches. I'm sure its fine. They didn't do all this years ago.

Same here. I take turns through the night, left and right side.

Re: Sleeping position
I usually start off with all good intentions on my left side but somehow end up on my right side.
Sleeping flat on my back at 25 weeks is really uncomfortable - so i automatically dismiss that idea of even sleeping in that position. But either side should be fine, as long as your comfortable - you will know when you are not.

Re: Sleeping position
I sleep with a maternity pillow and extra pillows (I've taken over and no room for hubby ! )... I lie in the middle of my maternity pillow which has side pillows .so when I switch from left to right or right to left.. I have support on my back...

I go to sleep usually on my right, and wake up on my back all the time. Left side just doesnt do it for me...

Re: Sleeping position
Thank you all! I too start out on my left side and end up every morning on my back. I am just 16 weeks now, but have been trying to get used to this for the past several weeks since I read that 16 weeks is the cut-off for back-sleeping. I have been scared to death that I am going to cut off my baby's bloodflow during the night.
