Re: Sleeping Positions
I usually start out on my left side, but wake up in all different positions. My dr. said left side is the best, but not to panic if I wake up on my back.

Re: Sleeping Positions
I can't stay in one position too long cause it starts to hurt my hips. I usually switch back and forth through the night from side to side. Up until 2 weeks ago I was also sleeping on my stomach because it was the only way I could fall and stay asleep. (I am 32 weeks)

Re: Sleeping Positions
I flip from side to side all night long. I don't sleep for more than 2 hrs at a time because my hips start to hurt and I have to turn over. I also have to repositoin my snoogle, so that's a production all in itself.

I do the same thing. I use a body pillow which helps a bit

Re: Sleeping Positions
I try to lay on my left side but when I first lay down for some reason, I feel like my lungs are being crushed. So, I sleep on my right side.
During the middle of the night though, after my body has relaxed, whenever I go to the bathroom I try to make myself lay back down in bed laying on my left side so that I fall asleep that way.

Re: Sleeping Positions
I'm too big to move during the night unless I actually get out of bed (which happens 3-4 times per night). I always start on my left side, and then switch to the right side and back etc.

OMG me too. It is horrible. My arms and hands have been falling asleep like crazy too. I just wish I could get a good block of sleep!

Re: Sleeping Positions
I was thinking of asking about this too b/c my arm falls asleep when I sleep on my left side. I usually sleep on my right side and rarely do I have any problems. I know the left is supposed to be better, but my arm falling asleep can't be good. To avoid being flat on my back (and b/c my sinuses have been bad) I sleep on a pillow wedge, I'm going to check with the doctor to see if it's okay to be on my back with that since it props my head above my heart.

Re: Sleeping Positions
I tried getting myself in the habit of sleeping on my left side to get use to it but there is no getting use to for me, there is no way in hell I can sleep on one side only. I tend to toss and turn a lot, I alternate between left and right. I sometimes (very rare) sleep on my stomach which is becoming more and more impossible and avoid sleeping on my back all together.
