Sleeping suggestions for a 5 week old?

DS will only sleep in his swing. I have been trying to get him into the bassinet and/or the crib again for the past 2 days and he is just not liking it. Even if I put him down fast asleep he wakes up and screams. Is he too young to let him cry? Do I just deal with it, let him sleep in the swing, and try to fix it later? I'm afraid he's developed a bad habit, but I'm not sure if he's old enough to let him cry for a few minutes...

Please help!

I don't think you can form any bad habits at this age. IMO, I don't think it's good to let him cry, I doubt he would go back to sleep like that.

My ds is 6 1/2 weeks & he just started sleeping in the co-sleeper, but that's only because I put him on his belly. Maybe you can swaddle him (my ds hates that though) or let him sleep on your chest.

If he'll only stay asleep in the swing, I would let him sleep there. He'll sleep better as he gets older

My DS would NEVER sleep in his basinett. The big joke in our family was when we wanted him to wake up - we would put him in his bassinett b/c he would start screaming in a few minutes. He liked the swing and the car seat. But, I figured out it was the incline - he didn't like being flat. So, I started using a positioner that has a slight incline and now he has been sleeping in the bassinett since 4 or 5 wks. Hope this helps, I know how frustrating it can be!

We have the same joke! We tried the positioner and unfortunately it didn't work for him Chat Icon

I have a feeling he will like sleeping on his belly better because he sleeps so well on my chest. Are you concerned about putting your ds on his belly at such a young age? I am tempted to try it but am a little nervous about it.
