Sleeping the First Few Months
I hope I'm not annoying with my threads, but I have so many questions! I was reading that sometimes parents have the babies sleep in the same room with them the first few months. Just wanted to know, did you do this? And if so, what did you have them sleep in? I'm not sure what I'm supposed to get for them to sleep in the first few months. If they can share a crib as soon as they get home, or is there something else I can buy to keep in our room for them to sleep in? Thanks!

you are not annoying at all !! ask as many questions as you want!! that's what we are here for!!
i had both boys sleep with us for the first few months.. we just got a regular PNP and they both slept in the same one. the bassinett for the PNP was great, it was just perfect!!
they do make a twin pack and play too at Babies R Us..

My boys slept in their bouncy seats until they were 3 mo. (We had bassinets for them, but we found that they slept better in their bouncy seats.)
We kept them in the living room. DH and I would take shifts. He would sleep on the couch near the boys from 8 - 2 while I would be upstairs. Then we'd switch. We didn't get to sleep in the same bed, but it was worth it (IMO!) bc we both got "decent" sleep each night.

Re: Sleeping the First Few Months
I had them sleep in one crib in DD's room for the first 3 months, and then I moved them to their own crib. They did not sleep in our room at all. It just worked out better that way for us.

Thanks! For the pack n plays, can they sleep together in the regular one or do you need to get the pack n play with twins bassinets?

Re: Sleeping the First Few Months
Don't worry about asking questions...I asked a million!
My babies are only 2 months old but here is what we have been doing. I registered for a regular pnp with a bassinet and a changing table that swings away. Right now they are together in the bassinet in the pnp in our room although they just reached the weight limit for the bassinet part (15lbs) so i need to have them start sleeping on the bottom. I am starting to slowly transition them into their room. So after their 4 am feeding i am putting them down together in one crib...once they start moving i will have them sleep in their own cribs.
hope that helps!

most of the regular PNP's have the bassinett part in it.. its basically the board that stays at the top .. once they reach a certain weight limit you put the board on the bottom and use it like a regular PNP.
and mine came with a changing table but we took it off so we can fit both babies in there

Re: Sleeping the First Few Months
Thanks for the replies! Sounds like the pack n play will work until they sleep in their crib then. This is my first pregnancy, so I need all the help I can get!

Re: Sleeping the First Few Months
My two slept in the Fisher Price Sleep and Play Rocker which I loved! I had them on the side of my bed and if one was getting cranky I would just lean over and rock them..it worked great.
WHen they napped they were in a twin pack and play in the living room. I dont think they make a twin one anymore but I am not sure.

OMG you are so annoying...
Thats what this board is for to ASK whatever questions you need answers for so just ask away....
My trio slept in their cribs in their own rooms the day they came home from the hospital. I just felt it would be easier and wouldnt have to worry about them getting use to sleeping in their cribs....

Re: Sleeping the First Few Months
2 PNPs downstairs for the first 4 months then their cribs. DH and I would trade in the middle of the night so one of us could sleep in our bedroom and get some uninterupted sleep. They stated STTN at 4 months.

Re: Sleeping the First Few Months
Mine slept in the bassinet part of the twin PNP for the first three months. We had them in the den and split shifts. Whoever was on duty would sleep on the couch and whoever was off duty would sleep in the bed. We found it much easier that way - I didn't want to be running up and down the stairs a million times when they were waking every 2-3 hours all night long to eat. The den is right off the kitchen so it was easy to make bottles, etc. Plus one of us would be able to sleep without getting woken up. At 3 months we transitioned to the cribs at night with no issues and by that point they were waking much less frequently so it wasn't too bad going up and down.

Re: Sleeping the First Few Months
we alternated between them in their cribs and in the twin pack and play. We took turns ( dh and I ) with sleeping and one getting up so we woudl alternate where to put the kids to 'bed'...in the living room or cribs. The cribs were in our room at the time, we didnt have a bedroom for them then.
They went into the cribs full time all the time by like 4 months.
Dont worry about asking ?'s. I know, as do the other mommies how it feels!

Re: Sleeping the First Few Months
If you used a regular pack n play, did you put a divider in between them when they were in bassinet or was it okay without one? Thanks!

Re: Sleeping the First Few Months
I don't have my twins yet but i bought a mini/porta crib so that they can sleep in the same crib in our room with us for the 1st few months.
I was going to use the pack and play but i didn't want to have to lug it up and down the stairs when I want it in the living room or the bed room.

Re: Sleeping the First Few Months
We still have them sleeping in our room (they are 3 months) and began to use the double PNP and they did not like sleeping in it at all!! We now use the Fisher Price Rock N Play Sleeper which they love! IMO I would get a regular PNP, they would be able to fit together in the same bassinet. If you swaddle them they won't be able to move and hit each other accidentally.
