Any must see places there and in surrounding area? Best places to stay? (pet friendly is a bonus) Best places to eat?

I'd like to plan a few days up there in the fall and have never been so any info is appreciated. Thanks! Chat Icon

So many historical sites to see, old well known families, like the Rockefellers home called Kykuit, there is a working Mill and village, I'm going blank I'll come back last with names and where i stayed

Kykuit, a Rockefeller estate is right there. Pretty grounds and views and interesting to tour the house

If you're going in the fall, you might want to check out the Great Jack O Lantern Blaze...I believe it's fairly close to Sleepy Hollow. Definitely visit the Old Dutch Church and cemetery.

The area usually has a decent amount of Halloween events. I went up several years ago and went to a reading of ghost stories in one of the cemeteries...that was pretty cool.

I have never personally been to Lyndhurst Mansion, but it seems to be a popular spot.

We went one year for Halloween time. Did the Blaze (cool to see once), Irving's Sunnyside tour was nice. I've been to Lyndhurst with my BF and that's nice (inside wasn't open but this was last Fall, but we did a small tour that allowed you in the bowling building). Horsefeathers is good to eat at.

Washington Irving historic site tours is fun. If it's October, do the Blaze & Haunted Maze attraction.

Lefeteris Gyro in Tarrytown is kid-friendly & delicious if you like Greek food.
