Slow growing follicles? Update with blood results

My RE is monitoring me to pinpoint when I ovulate so I can start the estrogen patches for my next IVF cycle. Today is day 19 and I went for an u/s this morning and I have 2 follicles both measuring only 13.5. They measured 11 last Friday. He took blood to check my hormone levels but does anyone know why this could be happening? I've never had a problem ovulating. He said this might just be a bad cycle and it is good that we didn't do the IVF this month.

Update: OK so the RE thinks I was surging this morning based on the blood results (LH 31.9, progesterone 2). He said he was not concerned and that I can start my patches next Friday! Yay! He just wants to make sure that my lining is doing what it is supposed to do, so I have to go for another u/s next week. I feel much better now.

I don't have any advice... but I hate to see a thread with 0 replies!

I didn't start my estrogen patches until after my retreival, so I really have no clue! Chat Icon

Re: Slow growing follicles?

Could it be that you will be ovulating late this month? Ever since I starting IVF with the meds, the months since when I am not on meds, my ovulation is much later.

Re: Slow growing follicles?

dont' they make you ovulate on your IVF cycle so they can control it?

if yes, then I wouldn't worry too much about it and they will probably continue stimming, unless the blood come back different. Chat Icon

I don't think I've ever ovulated this late in my whole life. I just feel like maybe my body is changing. I feel so depressed about this.

I'm not actually stimming yet. This is just to see when I ovulate because I'm supposed to start the patches 10 days after ovulation.
It just seems like everytime I go to the RE lately there is a new issue.

After my first IVF, the following month when I was tracking my ovulation, I didn't ovulate until day 21, which was so odd for me, as it is usually around day 14. It is happening to me this month too. This never happened until I started the meds.

Oh! OK this makes me feel a little better. Thanks so much.
I haven't actually tracked my ovulation since I started IVF a year ago. When I was temping and doing OPKs it was always around day 14.
Maybe its the meds. I guess I'll know more when they call me with the blood results this afternoon.

This is my second month tracking ovulation since my first IVF and it seems off again. Never had this happen to me ever until after my first IVF. I don't know why this is.

Good luck with everything!
