small venue help for a friend's wedding.
My BF is going to have a small sit down dinner for about 40 people for her reception. Can anyone recommend a venue for this type of reception?
Looking in Queens or Nassau.
can only think of George Washington Manor or NHP Inn but pricing is not listed online.

The Water's Edge Riverview in Brooklyn
The Manor does a WONDERFUL job... La Piazza in Merrick? I think they have a private room but not sure if thats too informal...
I got married at the Carltun, I think they can do smaller receptions in that side room, I forget the name of it...

I had my shower at the George Washington Manor. It was great...the food, the service...and the price was really reasonable. I would just give them a call and ask. They have so many beautiful rooms too!

The George Washington Manor in Roslyn.
We had about the same size wedding also and it was perfect. It was about 4.5 years but it was VERY reasonable. I think $27 or $35 per person. I can't remember. But it was so affordable compared to a lot of other places yet the food was very good. Everybody loved the food and the space.

Re: small venue help for a friend's wedding.
I had my reception in the cocktail hour room at Fox Hollow. It was big enough for 150 people but it would be so nice and initmate for 40. the whole ceiling is one big skylight too!!

Re: small venue help for a friend's wedding.
I think Coral House has a couple of smaller rooms. If she is doing the ceremony on site, she can have it outside along the lake - it's really pretty in nice weather.

For a larger wedding, it's def not cheap. We're paying $130pp on a Sunday , but I think with a smaller affair, you won't have the CH, use the ballroom, the whole shebang it would be more like a shower, so would probably be a lot cheaper.

Re: small venue help for a friend's wedding.
I got married at the George Washington Manor and was so pleased! From the food, to the service and how much they accommodated us and our guests, I was truly thrilled! I cannot remember the pricing but I would def give them a call!! DH and I went to meet with them and booked on the spot, without seeing anywhere else!! I also know that the Swan Club is very affordable and has great food too. Good luck and congrats to you friend!

I was going to suggest George Washington Manor. I had my wedding there with about 60 people and it was perfect.
