Re: Smells and pregnancy
oh god, i do not miss this for the first 20ish weeks, my house smelled to me (and only me) like spoiled milk I could heeve just thinking about it.
it passes the sensitivity though remains. I can smell anything from 20 miles away!

Re: Smells and pregnancy
What bothered me the most was my beauty products - my soap, my lotions, my perfume. Made me gag! I literally hated taking showers because of it (I took them regardless but still)
Food smells never really bothered me but people smoking and exhaust from buses definitely did.

Re: Smells and pregnancy
Oh God this was the worst symptom I had. I could not STAND the smell of garlic- and this included on people's breath .
The smell of roasted chicken made me gag.
The smell of burgers cooking on the grill could throw me over the edge.
The smell of whatever they use to clean this buidlign at work was horrible to me every morning when I walked in.
Thank God most of it has subsided. But I can still recall it so fresh in my mind.

Re: Smells and pregnancy
I'd like to know what the "use" for strong sense of smell during pregnancy is too. It was rough in the first trimester! The smell of DH's cologne which I loved before becoming pg was enough to make me gag. The garbage can in the kitchen (under the sink no less). I swore I could smell it all the way from the bedroom. The Febreeze air freshener for the bathroom that we bought in a 3 pack at Costco. Yeah, one time was all it took for me to smell and realize it had to go! We gave it away to relatives.
I couldnt cook. Smelling anything cooking seemed to make my stomach turn. We spent a lot of $$ on take-out/eating out.

Re: Smells and pregnancy
I just finished my first trimester and smells were definately not my friend! Working in a hospital, I found myself breathing through my mouth many times
