Do you think it will really snow here or is this a false alarm? I actually DO NOT want a snow day so I can have the extra day off Meemorial Day weekend

I could use some snow. I don't know why, but I could. But I'll pray for not enough for a snow day

Re: Snow on TUesday night into Wednesday
well, we're due.
POTENTIALLY SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM COULD EFFECT THE TRI- STATE FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE WEDNESDAY...
AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER THE SOUTHERN PLAINS MONDAY...THEN TRACK EAST TO THE TENNESSEE RIVER VALLEY BY TUESDAY...WHEN A SECONDARY AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WILL FORM OFF THE SOUTHEAST COAST. THE COASTAL LOW BECOMES THE PRIMARY LOW BY WEDNESDAY MORNING OFF THE VIRGINIA OR NORTH CAROLINA COAST. THIS LOW WILL INTENSIFY AS IT SLOWLY LIFTS NORTHEAST TO EAST OF CAPE COD BY THURSDAY MORNING...AND TO NOVA SCOTIA BY THURSDAY EVENING.

Sorry for the caps....

WHEN A SECONDARY AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WILL FORM OFF THE SOUTHEAST COAST.
COLD AIR WILL ALREADY BE IN PLACE ACROSS THE REGION AHEAD OF THE STORM AS HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS IN FROM SOUTH CENTRAL CANADA FROM MONDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY. THE COMBINATION OF THIS COLD AIR...AND ATLANTIC MOISTURE BEING PUSHED INTO THE REGION AHEAD OF THE STORM...GIVES THE POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW FALL FROM LATE TUESDAY THROUGH LATE WEDNESDAY.
BEST INDICATIONS ARE THAT SNOW SHOULD DEVELOP TUESDAY AFTERNOON ACROSS NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY...THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY...AND METRO NEW YORK CITY...THEN CONTINUE TO OVERSPREAD THE ENTIRE TRI-STATE TUESDAY EVENING. CURRENT EXPECTATIONS ARE FOR THE HEAVIEST AND STEADIEST SNOW FALL TO OCCUR FROM LATE TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING...WITH THE SNOW TAPERING OFF FROM WEST TO EAST WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
THERE IS STILL QUITE A BIT OF UNCERTAINTY ON THE EXACT TRACK AND STRENGTH OF THIS STORM...AND ON HOW FAST IT WILL MOVE BY THE AREA. WITH A TRACK FURTHER WEST THAN EXPECTED... THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR SNOW TO MIX WITH RAIN OVER EASTERN LONG ISLAND. IF THE TRACK IS FURTHER TO THE SOUTH OR EAST THAN EXPECTED...AREAS NORTH AND WEST OF THE CITY COULD END UP RECEIVING LITTLE IF ANY SNOW FALL.
IN ADDITION TO THE POTENTIAL FOR A SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL...PROLONGED STRONG NORTHEAST WINDS AHEAD OF THE SYSTEM LATE TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY HAVE THE POTENTIAL FOR PRODUCING MINOR TO POSSIBLY MODERATE COASTAL FLOODING AS WELL.
BE ALERT FOR FURTHER UPDATES ON THIS POTENTIALLY SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM.

Re: Snow on TUesday night into Wednesday
This is our Forecast:
327 AM EST SUN FEB 11 2007 ...CONFIDENCE IS INCREASING FOR A WINTER STORM TO AFFECT SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND... LOW PRESSURE IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OFF THE CAROLINAS TUESDAY... THEN INTENSIFY AS IT TRACKS NORTHEAST. THE CURRENT FORECAST BRINGS THE WINTER STORM SOUTHEAST OF NANTUCKET LATE WEDNESDAY. BASED UPON THIS TRACK...THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR A SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL THROUGHOUT MOST OF SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND BEGINNING LATE TUESDAY NIGHT AND LASTING INTO EARLY THURSDAY. STRONG NORTH TO NORTHEAST WINDS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE...PERHAPS GUSTING AS HIGH AS 50 MPH DURING THE HEIGHT OF THE STORM LATE WEDNESDAY AND WEDNESDAY NIGHT. THESE STRONG WINDS WOULD BE MORE LIKELY TO OCCUR NEAR THE COAST. THE COMBINATION OF STRONG WINDS AND RAPIDLY BUILDING SEAS COULD ALSO LEAD TO MINOR COASTAL FLOODING WEDNESDAY...DESPITE LOW ASTRONOMICAL TIDES. THIS WINTER HAS CERTAINLY FEATURED A LACK OF SNOWFALL...AND AS A RESULT...MANY PEOPLE HAVE NOT BECOME ACCUSTOMED TO DRIVING IN HARSH WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS. TAKE TIME NOW TO MAKE SURE YOUR VEHICLE IS PREPARED. PEOPLE IN SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND SHOULD BE AWARE OF THE POTENTIAL FOR HEAVY SNOW...STRONG WINDS AND MINOR COASTAL FLOODING DURING THE MIDDLE OF THIS WEEK. KEEP IN MIND THE FORECAST TRACK MAY STILL CHANGE OVER THE NEXT DAY OR TWO...WHICH COULD RESULT IN MORE OR LESS OF AN IMPACT ON THE REGION.
INTO THURSDAY MORNING???????????
