So-- who watched Real Housewives of NYC last night?
So I have a few comments..
1. These people are ridicolous.
2. The British guy Simon-- who is married to Alex-- well, they are the most ridiculous out of all of them. Anyway, I did business with him a few years ago with his hotel-- when they were introducing them, I was like oh sh!t! Anyway, they make him sound all high powered. His office is smaller than my kitchen and I live in an 1100 sq. foot condo... Having met him and spoken on several occasions-- I cannot believe these two on the show! I barely know him, but these two seem to be in la la land-- what they are trying to accomplish, I just don't know. They also live close to my friends in Brooklyn-- which is an area where people are cool and down to earth-- not all "should I wear these Cavalli pants".
3. What the hell is Bethany from the Apprentice doing on this show? A, she is not married. B, she seems as though to not play into NY Soceity or whatever and C, she is obviously doing this to further her career.
4. Jill who grew up on LI-- what the hell is she talking about referring to Woodmere as the Jewish ghetto? Did not get that comment at all.
Anyone else??

My DVR didn't record it But I don't think I am going to like it as much as the Orange county. Some of those women really get me nuts.

I'm embarrassed as a New Yorker. Their accents make me cringe.
And I just want to give Alex a haircut. Her hair looks rotten. She should have skipped one of the Cavalli dresses and spent the money at the salon.
so far I'm disappointed, but I expected that to be the case.

OMG! I thought the same thing about the hair. She was the one from Kansas, right? She said she could NEVER live in the suburbs with that face she made. I only caught part of it. I didn't like any of them either. The countess was the only one who I could maybe possibly like, but the countess part was so annoying. I was wondering why/how Bethany was a housewife too.

Re: So-- who watched Real Housewives of NYC last night?
Bethany must be the NY version of the Housewives of the OC's Jo.
The wanna be housewife.

Re: So-- who watched Real Housewives of NYC last night?
this show was so dissapointing...im sorry I stayed awake to watch it.
THese woman were so bland and unattractive compared to the Housewives of OC.... the OC's were obnoxious, but at least they were nicer to look at and entertaining.... these new housewives were such hags and completely lacked any class-they made all NYers look like idiots.
The 2 blondes (dont remember their names) were the most obnoxious.
The first one-the entire show, she kept claiming how gorgeous she was...even her 11 year old daughter recognized what an idiot she was.
And that 2nd one modeling the dresses for her husband, they were beyond pretentious....why is she speaking french to her kids? And that bathing suit he was wearing Stop trying to be so European- youre from KANSAS!
I cant wait for next week....this show is like a trainwreck that you cant help but watch!

Re: So-- who watched Real Housewives of NYC last night?
The person I most felt sorry for was that little girl who is obviously mortified by her Mother's behavior
I see a lot of therapy there, maybe even a teenage pregnancy
Was this a plug for the "Hamptons" I was sick just watching the houses alone!!

Re: So-- who watched Real Housewives of NYC last night?
Im sorry but it wasnt as good as the OC ladies and honestly for women who have money, they looked terrible to me and honestly not as attractive women...well I will give Betthany some props. Alex annoyed the crap out of me! I could never live in the suburbs but yes she is from KANSAS.
I dont know. I'll continue to watch but Im dissappointed already and it continues to show the Hamptons, they should of said, The Real Housewives of the Hamptons-Long Island.

I cannot stand these women...soooooooooooo annoying.
These are the type of people who come to the hamptons in the summer and make the locals run inside and bolt their doors. Obnoxious, cheesy, inappropriate, classless asses....

Re: So-- who watched Real Housewives of NYC last night?
My DH was mortified at the scenes for next week when Bethany introduces the Countess (I think) to her driver. The driver extends his hand to shake the Countess's hand and she just kept getting inside the car and proceeded to yell at Bethany for introducing her to someone as low in status as a driver.
The thing that "got" me was that these women are not even likable. At least the women from from the OC seemed to have heart and be nice people. These people just made me want to .
DH also called "Bethany" and her BF the "Jo and Slade" of this season!

That's the way I felt, but I don't know if it's because that was only the first episode or not. Were the OC women likeable after the 1st episode or did they come across as obnoxious as well? (I didn't see the first season of RHOC.)
Alex and her hubby are clearly out of their league and living a lifestyle WAY above their means. They're also wackos and I feel sorry for their kids. I just don't see a loving environment there, granted I only saw a small glimpse into their lives.
Bethany (sp?) seemed pretty normal/down-to-earth to me.

ITA. She pretty much admitted that she was a social climber when she was talking about being patrons of the Met.

Re: So-- who watched Real Housewives of NYC last night?
It's hilarious.
It's so The Emperor's New Clothes. We see an 8 minute bit on Alex and her husband picking out clothes - and thinking they are so stylish - then we see a shot of them in thong bathingsuits.
And those accents! Especially Ms. Zarin!!!!
