so aggravating.....venting....
so, i'm a juvenile diabetic....so for those of you that are now gestational diabetics, i can sympathize. anyway, i've been completely freaked out bc of all the issues that can be increased bc of being a preexisting diabetic. there's a list, trust me. anyway, i went for my bloodwork two weeks in a row- 31 viles in total- yikes, right?! and i was waiting for the phone call from my doctor. turns out my bloodsugars are terrible...which i obviously already know. i'm trying really hard, it just seems no matter what i do, i can't control them. and, it seems i'm always hungry lately- which doesn't help at all. so, my doctor told me i'm going to cause him to have a catherization once he's done with me. i go for nutritional counseling tonight, i have to see the high risk doctor for the second time on monday night, and my doctor on tuesday. its constant with me. and to think i'm only 8W4D.......i'm just so nervous already, adding all of this doesn't help at all. sorry- i just needed to vent. i don't really know any diabetics that have had babies- us juvenile diabetics are few and far between!!!

I'm not diabetic but I just wanted to say I'm sorry...and also let you know that in the 2nd trimester most women find their appetite is non-existant. So maybe it will be easier for you to control.

Re: so aggravating.....venting....
thanks....i hate venting about it since obviously there's really nothing i can do about it but try to make it better...i just get soo mad. i just want to know that everything will be ok.....obviously theres no guarantee in life, but i just feel like all of this added stuff doesn't help. i'll get over it......thanks for listening and thanks for your thoughts! they mean a TON!!!

Re: so aggravating.....venting....
Have you checked out the babycenter.com bulletin boards. I have a friend with Type I diabetes thats TTC and she's been lurking over there for support/advice. They have a whole board for Pregnant w/ Diabetes and its not all GD. I think its listed under the pregnancy complications list. HTH Good Luck!

You could also try to American Diabetic Association. I'm sure they have had plenty of people with Type I diabetes have children, and they might have some more advice on things you, and your doctor can do.
