Venting

when you are bothered or upset does venting to the person or to someone else make you feel better
or do you see it as being pointless

Re: Venting

I always VENT. Doesn;t make me feel better but it helps me think things through. I hate when people just go "ooooohhhhh poor you though" ... if they think I am wrong then tell me or help me think through it. I don't like to be coddled.

It makes me feel better to vent to a friend, or two, or three sometimes.

Re: Venting

Venting to other people makes me feel better. Esp if I feel like I can't vent to the person who I am upset with.

Most of the time I am actually looking to see other people's reactions to the situation.. I do sometimes get upset and make a bigger deal out of something then it calls for so I like people to keep me in check

Re: Venting

depends on the situation. Venting sometimes helps, but if it's a personal situation, I feel guilty after venting.

Re: Venting

i vent all the time....
imo it works wonders
I will vent to friends AND to the person themselves..
I have to say it always makes me feel good to get things off my mind

It helps me if I get a little symathy but if they are like <shrug shoulders> then it makes things worse.

Re: Venting

I often don't vent ENOUGH .. and I internalize and keep it in, and I make myself sick in the process

I do vent to a handful of friends though and I do realize that I inevitably always wind up feeling better in the process.. I just don't like to feel as though I am burdening anyone with my stuff is all Chat Icon
