So angry and upset- sorry long...

This probably will get moved but it is parenting related in a way.
So most of you know about my Dad- he is doing so much better day by day but its still a long road recovering from a stroke. He will probably be in rehab center for the next month. We are so grateful he is alive and doing so well.

But he was the full time caretaker for my Grandmother, his MIL. My Mom works full time and he is retired so the bulk of her care was his responsibility. She is 93 and in amazing shape but can be a lot of work. She really needs a hearing aid but pretends she doesn't so she misses a lot, she gets easily upset and hurt, etc. She's hard work but my Dad is a saint and is wonderful to her.

So the day my Dad had his stroke, he had just driven my grandmother up to my Uncle's for a long weekend so my Mom and Dad could spend it alone for their anniversary. They really needed the break and time alone. My Uncle really didn't want to do it but finally gave in. So now she is there and my Dad has his stroke. Its been less than a week. I call him on Sunday and he is already complaining on how this is too stressful for his family, that he already has one divorce and his wife comes first(she is a psycho who claims to have a chronic illness), they can't handle this etc. But that she could stay the week and they would take it day by day(what a wonderful son, huh?
So today he calls my sister and tells her he is putting her in a home. That its too much on him and he and his wfe can't handle it. Ummm... its been 5 days. She only needs to be there for 3 more weeks- my Dad has been caring for her for YEARS! He has had a stroke and needs your help now.

I am just livid and my sister couldn't reach me( I was in a meeting) so she called my DH hysterically crying so she didn't upset my Mom. I told her to calm down and that I would fly back East, pick her up and have her stay here for a month while my Dad recovers. We have the room; I would hire a caretaker during the day- ummm... no big deal other than flying there and back in a weekend.

How come people are so selfish? My Uncle is the most hurtful person I have ever met.

Some people are just that self absorbed! You can only hope that Karma will bite your Uncle in the butt!

It amazes me that a mother can take care of 50 children, but 50 children cannot take care of their mother!
