Re: So Bella thinks this is her new bed

I found evidence, black fur, that my cats have taken a liking to the changing pad too and I found my female sleeping in the crib the other day. Boy are they in for a surprise when they learn the nursery is not for them.Chat Icon

i dont know - i feel like it would cause the cat and dog more anxiety if we locked them out , then on top of that this new "creature' arrives. I think its good to let them explore and check out the nursery before the baby is here.

I will do my best to keep her off of there once the baby is born but now sure it will be 100% effective. Cats get into everything

ITA the nursery is going to the room that is the cats room now, they are going to freak out they spend about 20 hours a day in there but oh well. I am going to do my best and put the netting over the crib to keep them out of the crib but other than that there is no way I am going to be able to keep them out of there, they are indoor cats so I am not too worried about dirt or anything like that, I will also keep the sticky roller near by to keep cat hair off everything

Re: So Bella thinks this is her new bed

Yes i am currently an English bulldog owner… with OCD. And the baby will also be going into the room that was once the dogs...but i don’t want to sound mean but the baby is way more important then the dog. My dog Sheds...ALOT and hair anywhere near a baby makes me sick and i can’t deal with it. I have this vision of a baby with there wet hands, because they put them in there mouth so much, picking up a hair and then putting it in there mouth. I know it happens, but i will do EVEYTHING in my power to decrease that. So as soon as we begin the nursery there will be safety gate on the room so the dog can NEVER go in there. She will have her new room with daddy in his office. And well there will be a safety gate there because i will try to reduce the amount of hair in the house. I am a neat and clean freak but i know i won’t be cleaning as much once baby comes... its just what I think is best for baby!

It's always suggested to have the dog or cat learn and bear with as many changes, BEFORE the baby arrives.
