So bored of my Current job
I am so bored of the job I do everyday. The only thing I like about it is the hours. I work 6am to 2pm. I have been looking for a job and sending out my resume and stuff but I havent found anything yet.
With the house Danielle and I bought, I have been learning a lot of stuff from my father in law about house renovations, and I gotta say that I really enjoy the work. I was wondering how I would get involved with doing sheetrocking, spackling and painting. I actually emailed a painting company located in Suffolk county last night about working for them, but I dont know if they will hire someone that doesnt have any professional experience. The only experience I have is from painting 2 apartments, and painting 1 house and working on my house..... I really don't want to sit behind a desk for the rest of my life....I want to do something I enjoy...
Thanks for letting me get that out Scott

Vent away!
I always thought if I was a man that would be the type of work I would like to do as well.
GOOD LUCK!

Re: So bored of my Current job
I think it's fairly easy to get into construction esp if you know someone.

Re: So bored of my Current job
Check your local yankee trader and pennysaver. Dale is in construction and finally landed a job that he has been at for a year. He just drove around and just went tup to someone and asked if they needed help.

Re: So bored of my Current job
He has been working since he was 18 but before that he did not have any experience. I think if you are willing to learn and you show up to work. He has told me they are always trying to find reliable guys. Some are so lazy. He is doing sheathing right now and he said that is so easy you don't have to think at all but just a lot of physical work.

As long as one of you can hold the health insurance I say GO FOR IT! You only live once and you should make it as enjoyable as possible!
