So I asked the UFT rep about my check today...
the response....well you know years ago people had to wait 6-8 weeks...you really have nothing to complain about
and the payroll sec...could not tell me whether or not I have health benefits because "she doesn't handle that" AND I am STILL NOT IN THE SYSTEM

they should be able to cut you a check
this things drive me nuts- I have spent the past 3 weeks trying to straighten out my COBRA- it's driven me to tears- twice
today I finally got it taken care of - and they said- oh you want your husband updated also
duh he's the one with $900 prescriptions- ( i got the money back today)
so I can relate- it's horrible- no one seems to be able to do there job and help

Six to 8 weeks? More like 10-12- I knew people who didn't get a check before mid November, and the DOE made such a big deal about how they "fixed" it. What morons. I really hope you get a check on the 30th (including what they owe you.)

You should really try to call 65 Court Street and speak to someone there. Many times the payroll secretaries are quite useless....now you have medical benefits, you just aren't in the system yet, so God forbid something happened, you would be covered as of 9/1.
As I said before, you are me last year!
