So I don't normally post personal things like this about myself..

and let me start by saying that I am posting this on parenting as I am sure that some other mommies can relate to how I was feeling...

Last week, I had taken a huge step towards feeling better about myself.

After having Ryan, I lost all the baby weight, but still had a bit of a belly. I think that is quite normal for a good amount of moms (and if you don't have this problem, you have no idea how lucky you are!!). I was self conscious, but I never had a flat stomach, and could live with it. No problem...

Then came my beautiful daughter Erin 1.5 years later. After having her, I never went back to normal. I still looked 7 months pregnant (NOT exaggerating) and was MISERABLE. I mean, nothing fit me right. I would wear baggy shirts, as that is all that would look ok, and feel like crap every single day. I could only shop in the Womens department and NEVER wear anything trendy.. it was terrible. Crying everyday, hating to look at myself, horrible. Even losing all the baby weight would do nothing. My skin and muscles were completely stretched out.

After talking with DH, I decided to go for a consult with a plastic surgeon for a tummy tuck. I met with Dr. Greenberg (the guy who is on BLI and other radio shows and has all the commericals on the radio) in January. He explained that my abs were completely bowed out and no amount of exercise can correct that, as well as the excess skin that I had. I got a really good feeling from him and knew that he was an excellent Dr. and decided to book my surgery for April. Of course, I had to pay out of pocket for it, but the money did not matter honestly. We are also done having children, as you cannot have the surgery if you plan to have more kids, obviously.

So I had it last week, 4/16, and it went great. He did a GREAT job and I am completely flat, and look better than I did before I even had kids!! Of course, it is a hard recovery, much harder than my 2 c-sections, but completely worth it. I can't wait to look normal in clothes again and not wear things to cover myself up, and I am happy to no longer fear someone coming up to me in a store and asking "when are you due?"

DH has been great throughout this entire thing. He has been 100% supportive of my decision and only wants me to be happy.

I wanted to let this be known in case there were other mommies who were thinking about it and had questions. FM and I will tell you everything!

Thanks for letting me share!

Thanks so much for sharing- I will definately be asking questions after #2 since I still have the belly from #1 and working out is NOT doing it.
