So Ian went to the eye doctor today...
and it's pseudostrabismus, so thats good.
BUT doctor say there is a weakness of 2.75 between the eyes and for his age it should be lower than 2.50. so it eventually can end up as strabismus.
so we have to go back in 8 weeks to check again. it could correct itself or he'll need glasses. anyone have this with their DC?

Not sure what those words mean - they don't sound good but if you say so.... for your DS

Re: So Ian went to the eye doctor today...
not with my kid, but my friends little sister growing up had the eye that went towards one side. I think it started when she was a younger kid..not as young as your DS. But maybe 4 or so. (unless it was going on when she was younger and they didnt know or wasnt diagnosed).
But she did wear corrective lenses for it for a long time and now she's a normal looking 25 year old. You would never know she had issues with her eyes as a kid. and she doesnt wear glasses now or contacts for her vision.

DS is going to the eye dr in Sept for the same thing. It runs in my family big time. My brother had it as a kid. He had a patch for a while. It corrected it. He ended up needing glasses for astigmatism and far-sightedness. My cousin had it really bad an was in a patch and glasses as a toddler. She ended up needing surgery at 6 years old. But her eye turned almost all the way in...She is good now...You can not notice it unless she is tired. She is 25 now. I think a lot of times it can be corrected with patches....I hope it all turns out ok for you....

Re: So Ian went to the eye doctor today...
diana - i had one eye that "drifted" a little and an astigmatism (sp?) as a child... i got glasses around 2.5 years old
i had them from the time i was 2.5 until about 12. My eye that "drifted" corrected itself pretty quickly and at 12, my vision tested better than 20/20! Now, at 26, I am the only one is my family of 7 without glasses!!!
Ian will be fine, with or without glasses
