So, I'm pretty sure some lady called the police on me and my husband...
Yup. I'm sure she did. We were at the store before and Ava vomitted all over everything and everywhere. Yup. Puked everywhere. Well, we were trying to just get her in the car to get home quickly since we were just up the road, and Ava was FREAKING OUT. She was screaming, "NOOOOOOO!!!!! DON'T PUT ME IN THE CAR! NOOOOOO!!!!!" And so this middle aged woman walks by and starts staring, then she walked back and was looking at us, and walked into the store outside of where our car was parked, and I see her pointing at us and frantically telling the kid behind the counter something. She stood and stared at us so long that it made me SO uncomfortable that I took Ava out of the car to console her so the woman would see I was clearly not kidnapping her. But man, the kid just puked, she's in the worst mood ever and this woman was just staring at us liek we were criminals

Maybe she didn't see that she puked and just heard her saying, "don't put me in the car." Maybe she didn't think you were her parents and thought you were kidnapping her? If that's the case, I'd be happy that she called the cops because what if that was a real scenerio, KWIM?

Oh, I totally wasn't mad, infact, both JT and I said we thought it was a good thing that someone did that, but it made me feel so uncomfortable and sad. I don't know why. Maybe it's Ava that I'm feeling upset over, but I really didn't want anyone to think I was hurting my baby girl, ya know?

Awww I totally understand your feelings. It is good that people are watching and aware these days but its hard when its misinterpreted. I hope Ava is feeling better soon (and her Mommy too!)

Well I guess it was a good thing that Ava never actually went in by Gilly, right!

It's hard to think that you are under a microscope when 1) the person looking does not know the whole situation, and 2) you are putting all your energy into staying calm and supportive while your baby is upset.
I hope Ava feels better

Poor Morty! I hope she feels better.
But I agree with you. All too many times, we hear stories of how people sit idly by and do nothing when something like an abduction or abuse/neglect happens. Id rather that someone cares enough to worry speak out.
Reminds me of the time when I took my nephew to Toys R Us when he was about 2 and I told him we needed help with his stroller. In the middle of the store he screams "HELP! HELP!" at the top of his lungs. Im thinking "Great, someone will think I am kidnapping him" and told him to stop.

Honestly I probably would've been a little "nosey" too just because you hear all the stories about people that dont' do anything when a crime is happening KWIM?
