So, Jacob has an egg allergy
We took Jacob to the allergist a couple of weeks ago because he was breaking out in hives. This started when we started giving him tablefood at like 5 months but the pediatrician said that he will grow out of it and told us to put hydrocortisone if he breaks out. It really started getting worse and when I gave him a scrambled egg for the first time a few weeks ago, he broke out from head to toe The allergist called us last night and told us that he tested positive for eggs, dogs, cats, and slightly peanuts. Anybody's DC have this and grow out of it? TIA!

Re: So, Jacob has an egg allergy
My friend's dd has an egg and peanut allergy but the allergist felt strongly that she's outgrow the egg one in the next year.
We saw 2 different allergists who both recommended Food Allergy Network I carry the "How to read a label for Milk Allergy" in my wallet so if I'm not sure about an ingredient I can check it right away.
I lurk on Babycenter Food Allergy board as there are a lot of suggestions for food substitutions. Just this morning there was a thread on egg subs. My friend uses sunflower butter instead of peanut butter in her house, she said her DH and older DS can't tell the difference in taste. She got it at Trader Joes.
I know you will, but be sure to tell your ped about the egg allergy, he won't be able to get some vaccinations as they have egg in them.

Sorry you are going through this Genna- hopefully once you get into the groove of what he can and cannot eat things will be a little easier.

Re: So, Jacob has an egg allergy
Ellie currently has an egg allergy which my mom tells me I had too but outgrew. It's just from eating eggs though not from eating things that contain eggs so it's pretty easy to avoid so far. I'll let you know if she outgrows it and when. I'm hoping by 2 yrs.
