So let me get this straight...

I got a positive OPK on 12/24. So that means I O'ed on 12/25 or 12/26 right? So I'm probably about 5DPO right?

I just want to make sure I'm understanding this correctly. Chat Icon

Sounds right to me!

Since the OPKs usually indicate that ovulation is coming, I typically assume that I ovulate the day after the +OPK. That day counts as O, and then the next day is 1 dpo, the day after is 2 dpo, etc.

Just curious...not actively TTC but if you get a + OPK is doesn't mean that you are ovulating that day?

It means you are going to O in 12-24hrs, I think.

Could be more than that too. I surged late one night at around 10:30 and when I went in for an IUI the next morning, the sonogram afterwards showed that the egg had not yet released. By the next day it had.

The +OPK indicates that the LH surge, which you have about 12-24 hours prior to ovulating has been detected. Generally, if you get a +OPK you'll be ovulating sometime in the next 2 days.
