So moms, this is what storm damage looks like...
At about 5 pm yesterday, this 100ft tree fell from my neighbor's house onto my front lawn, crushing our car. Thank God no one was hurt. I'm trying to find the humour in this situation, so can anyone recommend their child friendly car?

OMG!!! Sorry to crash but this is insanity!!! That tree was HUGE--you guys are so lucky that tree didn't land on your home!!

Wow! Where do you live? We are coming home from Teaneck NJ and every block has trees like this uprooted and all over the streets. It's amazing people didn't get killed. I was floored seeing trees like this all over people's proerty. I am so sorry about your car but thank God you guys are ok!

We are in north Lynbrook. Someone actually took that pic and posted it on the news12 website.
We are so grateful that it landed as it did. If it had fallen at a different angle, I can't even imagine. I'm counting my blessings today!

That is incredibly crazy! That tree is huge! Thank God no one was hurt or that it did not fall on your house!
I cannot recommend a car but FYI, in case you had your stroller in the trunk, call the manufacturer and see what they can do. A drunk driver totalled my brother's car and the stroller was mangled. My SIL called Graco and they said if she sends it back, they will send a brand new one, same or similar model.

I love our 2 cars - I have a Mazda 6 and DH has Jeep Liberty. But I will be getting a minivan soon

OMG! I had no idea the storm was so bad until hearing it on here. I guess we were lucky out in Rocky Point!

Thanks so much for the info! Luckily the stroller was in my car (in front of the destroyed car), but the car seat base was in my husband's car. I'll try and call Peg Perego and see if they'll do anything.

I have an XTerra and my DH wants a non-SUV but I'm trying to convince him to get another SUV. I said I'd never drive a mini-van, but talk to me in a few years!

OMG!!! I'm in Oceanside and we literally saw sparks and fires from all the trees down on every block, our tree in the front literally split in half and blocked the street!!!
Thank g-d no one was hurt!!!!

Wow!! I'm telling you, the winds were 10x stronger on the south shore! I had to go down to East Rockaway yesterday and couldn't believe the winds. My sister also lives in north Lynbrook and she emailed me a ton of pictures of trees down all over by her!
