so, my dh wants to buy me a Prada bag...and this is causing a debate

as it could only do with ME.

I am not a big ticket spender. I am not a big spender at all. but he's been trying to buy me a NICE bag for a while now and I've been refusing them. (if you can imagine it )

the other day we were in Prada on Via Delle Spiga in Milano and we looked. there were a few that I liked but I decided to wait (the euro had gone up a bit)

now that we are back in the States, I've decided to see if we could find one that we both like at a price I could live with.

and, I MUST be able to use it as a diaper bag (not a dirty diaper bag , just to carry the clean ones around in a fashionable way). i definitely need one and this splurge will also serve a huge purpose.

so, I am asking you ladies for two things..

first, this needs to be purchased on sale, whatever it is. could you alert me to any sales at stores that carry luxury bags that we could take advantage of

and second,

those familiar with both diaper bags and high priced bags, could you please suggest some styles that may work and serve my purpose.

it doesn't have to be Prada...can be another brand on par with them.

This is not on sale.. but I just saw it at Saks the other day and I LOVE it, so when you mentioned Prada I HAD to post it!!!

It's tiny cause I had to google image it... saks.com is down..

If you hit Saks during friends and family, you could totally get this on sale. I don't have any kids, but friends of mine have the Gucci diaper bag and I know they are fans... Louis Vuitton makes a GORG one too... All those brands can be purchased during sale time at Saks..

You could always check Bluefly for sales as well..

You just missed the Prada sale on RueLaLa this week. They had some nice styles and were almost 50% off. It sold out really fast.

Gucci has a really nice one that I *think* is meant to be a diaper bag. I saw someone post it on TTC a while back I believe.

I'm not expecting, but something similar happened with me & DH in Rome two weeks ago. We were on Via Condotti and went into the big stores to look and DH really wanted to buy me a Louis Vuitton bag, but I felt soooo bad about it! We decided we'd come back on our last day and when we did, the one bag that I really had liked, someone was trying on and I just didn't like how it looked anymore. I told DH that if we're going to spend $$$ like that, that I should LOVE the bag and not just think it's nice, so we passed. Good luck!

Never really went for prada...so i dont know much about the styles, but i know a lot of them have that vinyl material which i would think would be very practical for a diaper bag.

A few of my girlfriends use their Louie (big bucket) one for a diaper bag and they love it. But they have to zip lock everything cause one tiny spill and the inside (material) is gone forever.

bummer their was a prada sale last week but none of those bags would have been good as a diaper bag. i use my lv as a small diaper bag. its amazing how those bags expand when u need it. like if you got the neverfull. gucci also has a diaper bag too and also a baby carrier. hth ets: didnt see pic above but thats the one i meant.
