so my first pregnancy question! :) sore throat related
So I'm 5 weeks along, every day for the past like 10 days I've had a sore throat.....for any of you that had this symptom, how long did it last for you? And did you take or do anything to help? I've been using theraflu sore throat packets at night, but that was before my bfp this morning! lol So I need other options, TIA!

Ive heard of some girls having congestion as a symptom, so maybe post nasal drip is causing a sore throat. Check which cold meds are safe.

Unfortunately when i got sick at 6/7 weeks, i drank a lot of tea, vapo rub in the humidifier (or vaporizer- one of those), and grinned and bear it. Check with your doc because mine allows a bunch of tylenol products which especially the liquids could help with a sore throat. feelbetter..

Re: so my first pregnancy question! :) sore throat related
I had a bad sore throat , diarrhea and fever at 5wks! It was my body's reaction to the hormones and also an allergy I think to the polyurethane that was just put down in the house. I drank a lot of Gatorade to flush my body but eventually had to just move over to my parents for awhile to avoid the smells....

Keep drinking water to keep your throat moist.

Yes, drink plenty of water. A lot of preggos complain of bad congestion when they are pregnant. I fall in that category. I feel like I am always stuffed up and it makes it hard to know if you are genuinely sick or not.

I had this for a while and It was due to the congestion...my nose was always stuffy (mainly in the beginning months) and this led to me breathing through my mouth while sleeping, hence the sore throats!
Keep yourself hydrated, and check what you can take for sore throats before you treat it...

Congrats!!!! And I'm about 6 weeks and have been waking up most mornings with a sore throat. It goes away after I eat and drink something. Maybe try honey or tea? Feel better!

Hot decaf tea and honey will do the trick! Unfortunately you shouldn't take any over-the-counter cold meds unless recommended by your doctor. Feel better!
