So someone at work told me it looks like I put on a few pounds .
I am only 11w and I was trying to hold out to tell my boss. If I am already looking fat to people, I am not sure how long I can hold it.
I don't understand it. I have now gained almost 5 pounds. I am not over eating. I am even trying to watch what I eat.
All my clothes are tight and I feel like I have expanded everywhere. I am worried I am going to be huge if this keeps up.
The Dr. said I should only gain 25-30 pounds.
Has the happened to anyone else early on? This is my first child.

It definitely is bloating- I felt so gross for a while. I ended up telling my principal around 12 weeks because I felt like everyone could tell.
If you don't want to say anything yet, just play it off.

A lot of the weight is due to water retention and increase blood flow at this point. They say 2-5 lbs in the 1st tri is good. So don't feel bad, you are right on track.
And F that co-worker!!!! How dare they!!!

I think I gained about six pounds in my first trimester. From months three to four, I gained nothing. Don't sweat it. You're right on track.

I feel the same way, but I am only 7 weeks.
I really have to watch what I am eating, and start walking more. I am just so tired all the time

I wouldn't worry - I couldnt button my pants at all at 11 weeks and was up 5 lbs. I am 26 weeks now and up 20lbs.

Ditto on the bloat. Watch your salt intake and drink tons of water.
And not for anything- who the heck goes up to someone and tells them they look like they put on a few pounds?
Honestly! Even if someone here put on 100 lbs I would NEVER EVER say a word. Common courtesy.
I swear people have NO CLASS!!!!

Re: So someone at work told me it looks like I put on a few pounds .
At 10 weeks, I bought maternity clothes.
I bloated up very much. I didn't feel like continously buying new clothes (pant size went up from 6 to 10 or 12). My breasts got MUCH bigger & I can't fit into any of my LOOSE dresses because of that fact (it happenned week 8 to week 10).
Everyone is different: don't worry about it.
I have no idea how much I gained the 1st 10 weeks. I haven't gained anything from 10 weeks to 15 weeks though (so I figure I gained baby & bloating went down).

Re: So someone at work told me it looks like I put on a few pounds .
Awwwww JennBeagle don't even stress it I gained at exactly the same rate, and while some people were more "attuned" to it, people REALLY didn't know I was PG until I announced around 16wks at work. In fact I used to get my coffee every single day from the same shop, and the dude that worked there didn't know I was pregnant. Until I walked in WITH THE BABY after he was born. So "clueless" comes in many shapes and sizes!!!
And if it helps to make you smile that coworker is going to feel like a MORON in a few weeks time
