So that job was offered to me...

But I wasnt too impressed with the salary...

I know its down south... so I know Im gonn be taking a pay cut. But how am I supposed to know what that positions avg pay downt there is....

The owner seems soooo sweet, and the girls' position I would be taking is also previously from NY (freaky) The owners exact words "As soon as I saw you were from NY I just had to sweep you up, before someone else did" I guess she like how we NYers work Chat Icon

The childcare is totally free... and Ryan would be with me.... (and so would the other babies... whenever we decide to have more!)

I just think its a big move- for not the greatest pay... I mean DH salary is staying the same- and since I will be working FT my salary will be going up... so we will be better off... BUT like I said its a BIG MOVE Chat Icon

Can you do a search on monster.com and search cost of living or something like that....the south has a lower cost of living then we have up here so it may be ok...

Also if DH maintains his salary and it is only you taking a pay cut -- with free childcare which is a HUGE expense and the lower cost of living down there, it might not be all that bad.

If you're definitely planning to move, it might not hurt to take the job. You can always start looking once your down there and know what a good salary is. Plus, you'd be saving on child care, which will be more money in your pocket.

Free child care? Add a $750 to 1000 a month to your salary. That is huge!

My dh took a pay cut when he took his new job. But he doesn't have to commute(he works from home) and he has a company car with free gas. Totally worth the pay cut....

I say you should go for it. You never know what could happen in the future. I'm sure there's always room for pay increases. The free childcare will make a big difference too.

Re: So that job was offered to me...

I think between the free childcare and the fact that you will have your child with you, it would be totally worth it - pay cut or not!

Plus your hubby's salary is staying the same, with a lower cost of living - I would jump at the opportunity, IMO!

Good luck!!
