So we're trying out a new babysitter...
she just posted on my wall - when & what time do you need me to babysit?
Right. I want anyone with access to my wall or yours to see that you're babysitting on x night.
Maybe I'm being overprotective but I just messaged her back to say "Please don't post when you're babysitting on my wall. I don't want people to know when we're not home & you're alone at my house with the kids"
Just got a thank you back.
Go ahead, tell me I'm paranoid.

I agree with you completely. I use FB to talk with our babysitter, but definitely don't post on the walls. Always private messages.

I'm glad you posted this because it would never even occur to me that this would be an issue. I'm not the most safety-conscious mom, I'll be the first to admit that.
Our nanny is on FB but we are not "friends" and I am sure we are both happy with it staying that way

agreed...even outside of babysitting. We have one friend who is constantly saying "Off to the Hamptons!" "Great weekend to be in XYZ" KWIM. We keep telling her to stop...but she hasn't.

I think you did the right thing. I never post where I'm going - just when I get back I post where I've been. You can never be too careful when it comes to your DC.

No way are you paranoid!!!!!! I won't even post when DH and I are going away, I'll wait to post till I get back, lol. Now maybe thats paranoid! Even though I know everyone on my friends list, some I haven't seen in years from high school.
