So what other poor suckers
have to work today?
Honestly, I don't mind that much.
Since so many other people have off, they think I have off too and I can get a TON of work done.

it's actually the first time I've been off for MLK day due to a takeover at my company by another, bigger company. We used to have president's day off in february. Not complaining but it's going to be a long haul from here to memorial day off. If I could have chosen I would have worked today and kept president's day.

Same here! Haven't had either of these days off in 8 years!
I don't mind working today for the same reasons others have said... no traffic, phones are quiet, no mail, banks are closed. Makes for a pretty easy day and I can catch up on some things. Only part that stinks is DH is off and gets to stay home and play with DS.

I'm here at work. We could choose 2 out of 4 holidays between MLK Day, Pres. Day, Columbus Day, and Vets Day. I chose Pres. Day and Columbus Day.

Me! We don't get off any of these types of holidays but the rest of our building does so I need to sign in, etc. with security. Fun.
