So when is it really worth while to take DD to a music/gymboree type class?
I mean worthwhile in the sense of am I going to waste my money... will she even understand or be intersted in what is going on at almost 5 months? Or should I wait a little longer?

I take cadence and she laughs and loves it. She might not really know whats going on but she really does have fun. She loves tummy time and they put a mirror so she can look at herself and she just cracks up... i am so glad I do it

Re: So when is it really worth while to take DD to a music/gymboree type class?
We started Gymboree this month - DD is 3 months old, as are the other babies in the class. They ALL love it!! And they LOVE looking at each other and the other moms, more so than looking at their own moms.
And we moms love it as we get to get out of the house, and talk with other moms.
I go to the one in Hicksville - great because then I have lunch, do a little shopping, etc. We make a day of it!

i didn't think my ds got too much out of gymboree at that age, but he loved music! either way though it's great to get out of the house and meet other moms!

Re: So when is it really worth while to take DD to a music/gymboree type class?
I started taking Christopher when he was around 4 or 5 months. It was really hit or miss -- some days he loved it and some days he just cried. But when we would get in the car to come home he would ALWAYS babble up a storm, so I definitely think he was taking it all in even on the days when he didn't really participate.

Colin is 4.5 months old and it's great!! But i have to admit, i signed up more for me than him. He loves it and flirts with all of the girl babies while he's there but i joined because i wanted to meet other moms and i wanted to be forced out of the house one day a week.

We started My Gym at 6 months and just signed up for another session + Music Together. DD is 11 months. I feel like the gym class has really brought her out of her shell.

DS is 6.5 mths old and had his first music related class recently. Chase was so wide-eyed at everyone. especially at the guy playing his guitar while singing. he just wouldn't peel his eyes off of him! at this age.. maybe even younger, it's very influential and i think it's worth the moolah!

Im gonna sign Noah up after 8 months once he can sit up on his own.
I cant afford to keep going all the time, and I think he gets just as much at home right now as he would there.

Re: So when is it really worth while to take DD to a music/gymboree type class?
Is it worthwhile? Absolutely! DD has been taking classes since she's 5 mos and whenever a new toddler comes into class now it reinforces for me that it was worth it when I see how timid they are or how much more she can do b/c of it. She was the kind of baby that wanted to be around kids and loves music and play and isn't in Daycare so it was perfect!

Re: So when is it really worth while to take DD to a music/gymboree type class?
I forgot to say that I liked learning all the songs and games and doing them at home with Christopher. Before going there I kind of didn't really know a lot of baby songs/games.

We started at 14 months. I think at around or after the 10 month mark is good.
