So yesterday, we FINALLY went
to the "new" playgrounds/park in Mount Sinai. If you havent been there yet, that place is freakin awesome! I LOVE the fact that they have the smaller playground for 5 and under. For once, my daughter was not being trampled by older kids. AND the other playground was pretty cool too. But I made sure I went with her so she wouldnt get in the older kids way! Here are a few pics! (dh STINKS at taking pictures btw)
First time in a swing and he WAS NOT HAPPY!
Going down the big kid slide (which I did not fit in. I think my legs are bruised today!)
I think we're going back today with Genevieve's little push buggy car thing and we're going to have a picnic! We got there kind of late yesterday and they closed the playgrounds, so I feel bad that GEnevieve only had about 15 minutes to play....

We go there and love it too!!!!!!!! DD is only 9 weeks so we don't use the playground yet, but we walk there as often as we can. The only thing that stinks about that place is there is NO shade whatsoever, so I try to go as late as possible during the day in the summer, so I don't scald (and now with DD, so she's not baking in the sun, because even w/the canopy on the stroller, we're always facing the sun at some point).

ETA: What time did they close the playground? I don't even know their current hours, I just remember last summer I think the park closed at sundown?

Where is that park located in Mt. Sinai? Is it the one at the end of 83?
We've been to Diamond in the Pines off 112 and it's really nice there too. But again, no shade. I wonder why they didn't plant more trees or something!

OOOOO. Fill me in too! It isn't super close, but I love going over there b/c it is my "hood" (grew up in MP) are these next to where the peach farm was?

I was just going to say is it the one on 83, my friends uncle builds those playgrounds..
The one on 112 your talking about, I think that is the one I went to the other day.. They are still building the area if its the same one you went to?

Yup, it's the one at the end of 83 on 25A in Mt. Sinai. It's called Heritage Park, it's really nice, but as I said, no shade, which stinks. We try to go every few days with DD when the sun isn't scalding!!

Yeah that's the one. The park backs up to 83. I know they just put in tennis courts. I wonder what else they are adding.

The one on 112 isn't very far. You just take 83 to 112, go left and it's a few hundred feet up on the right. I don't know where the peach farm is, but I don't really know the area further down 83.

Is there an area at the park on 83 where you can have a picnic under a tree?
If not, then something my DH and I can do or sit with our 2 month old?

I'm in Rocky Point too! I wish we had something right in town like that. Besides the little dinky park on Hallock.

The playground is awesome!!! my only problemwas that it was open for a little bit back a couple of weeks ago and then about 2 weeks agao we went back and they were closed again. They were putting the real playground mulch down they said. As of this past Friday it was still closed. My dad took my kids there to play so that I coud see my sister in the hospital with her new baby.
I felt bad because it was like a tease to my kids. They LOVE it there!! I so happy it's back open.

I tried going down the slide too with Andrew not knowing it was so small. I got stuck and was totally embarrassed
