So you work out alot, you feel like you are doing your body good... BUT
...then when it comes to simple activities, a flight of steps or walking up a hill you get all winded and feel like an out of shape shlub?
Does this happen to anyone else? I do 40 mins of cardio 4-6 times a week (elliptical, run, bike, treadmill uphill).. get my heart pumping, sweat, feel good...pretty much work my patootie off as hard as I can without being unreasonable...
But then I go up the steps of my house and Im practically panting.
What gives?

Definitely happens to me all the time. I can run 10 miles, but walking up a flight or two of stairs makes me winded.

I'm a personal trainer, I teach spin, boot camps, everything. I taught 2 hours of boot camp this morning, was totally fine, but I felt like I was going to DIE walking up the stairs to get out of the gym.

Throw the stairclimber or hiking into the mix of your cardio, these activities use completely different muscles.
I'm in pretty good shape, and when I go hiking up some mountains on the weekends, I work up a great sweat and get out of breath, I was surprised but it's different than the running and spin that I do 5x a week!
