Social Work Positions
Does anyone know of any openings?
Effective January 19th, I've been laid off by NY State and desperately need a job. I'm an LMSW and Certified School Social Worker.
Any help is appreciated!
Thank you!

Re: Social Work Positions
I don't know of anything off-hand, however, here is my school's alumni job posting board:
http://alumnijobs.blogspot.com/
I don't think too many people know about this site, and I know for a fact these jobs are probably not flooded with candidates like a site like socialservice.com would be.

Re: Social Work Positions
Thank you for the tips!
I got an extension until April so that's a tiny bit better!

Re: Social Work Positions
I have seen a few posting on sco, family service league, FEGS. Good Luck! this market sucks. I graduate with my MSW this May and scare to see what will be available for recent graduates.

Re: Social Work Positions
Try South Oaks...I had interviewed there, and was offered a Per Diem position for a new program, but took a different job. The guy calls me often to see if I'm interested, so I bet they're still looking for people.

Re: Social Work Positions
Another idea for those looking:
Look at home care agencies. There are some up and coming programs right now that look for social workers with case management experience. If you have experience with disabilities and medical social work, even better.
Since most home care agencies are non-profits, the pay tends to be decent as well.

Re: Social Work Positions
Just bumping this back up. I know there is a really good chance my agency will be hiring for someone with at least an MSW and 2-3 years of (working, not internship) case management experience with people with disabilities in the near future.
My boss has also been known to interview and hold onto resumes if he does not have something right away. I obviously can't promise anyone anything, but wouldn't mind passing a resume along.
The two programs I know they will probably be hiring for are for Service Coordinators for the TBI/NHTD Medicaid Waiver Programs if you want to research them online.
If you have a background in medical social work as well, it would be really helpful.
FM me if you have any questions.

Re: Social Work Positions
Bumping this back up because I was at a training today with multiple agencies and I know of a couple that are hiring for social workers/RNs.
One is looking for someone with a lot of supervisory experience however.
The other a few years of case management. FM me and I will give you the names of the agencies and contact persons.
