So....I broke down and bought an OPK
So much for "winging it" huh?? I was just too curious...knowing I COULD potentially know if I was really O-ing, but choose not to? Craziness!!
Of course, I couldn't justify the "good"test....yet...so I bought the cheapies....And I got a BFN....but it was 8pm...and not holding urine for 4 hours...does that really make a difference?
I THINK I am CD 10 today...of course that's based on FF, who didn't count my first two days of spotting...so maybe I'm CD 12??
I am now disppointed and throughly confused, and off to clean my house because I invited a whole mess of relatives over for the SuperBowl.
Just a vent - carry on!

Re: So....I broke down and bought an OPK
I did that last month also! I also became obsessed with it. I felt like it was my birthday when I got a positive OPK. Anyhoo...bought a butt load of them on amazon (cheapies) and this month I plan on following Deanna's Plan, and doing OPK.

Re: So....I broke down and bought an OPK
Since I am doing IUI I have been testing with OPKs like crazy. and read a lot about when is the best time to test.
SO here is what I found and what was my experience. They say not to test with FMU. The reason is that most women begin to surge in the am and that the test will be neg but if you test btw noon and 8pm you will get the positive.
Here is what I did....I went overboard due to the IUI and knowign I had to get to the Dr. I test in the morning and then at lunch adn then at 6pm. well yesterday I woke up and at 7am I had a - opk and then at 11am it was positive. And I have never had a + opk in the am.....I had always fot the =) at 6pm when I test.
Good Luck

Re: So....I broke down and bought an OPK
I think it dpends on your personality but for ME it totally made me feel better to KNOW I was about to ovulate. My friend winged it for months not knowing and drove herself nutty, I could not do that. We got preggo on the 2nd month w/OPK's. Obviously not saying it was defintly that but it helped to know when I was Oing

Re: So....I broke down and bought an OPK
I know I've till got a chance...and likely didn't o yet, but I FEEL like I am....so it was disappointing to see a test that said it wasn't happening in the next 48 hrs....
Like you said Diamond, I think it will just make me feel more sane mentally to know when I am O-ing...
Oh well...take two this afternoon!!
