So...I don't know where this goes..question about pill addiction?
This is utterly embarrassing for me to write. My fathers mother, who is 80 years old, is addicted to pain killers.
Its really bad now-she keeps calling 911 to get pain killers at the hospital, bc her doctors wont give anything to her (she has NOTHING wrong w/her, physically).
Has anyone delt with this?

She could've been using them for a long, long time. I would think she would have to participate in some type of rehab treatment to break the addiction.

I know my friends uncle who is 70 had an addiction to vicodin and he was able to find a dr. to give him Suboxone to help with withdrawl symptons. Not sure how long it took to get off it but it helped him get off the pills and he is now drug free. Not sure if u wanna go that route as many people dont like other drugs to help with drugs like methadone but its one option and at 80 years old it may be worth it. JMO

I'm sorry you're dealing with this.
She has been on painkillers since my mom met her. This is over 35 years.
