so,...I had contractions for over 2 hours last night!

I wonder if it means I am getting closer--or I just stood too long.
I honestly do not pay attention to anything unless it really grabs my attention.
I had contractions for 2 hours and they went to 2 mins apart--I took a bath instead of calling a doc.
I figured...34 weeks--whatever is is...
I didn't want to have probes up there so I let it go.
I had it at about 25 weeks for a few hours and it disappeared..thank goodness it did!
Question:

Did anyone else get this and remember?
did it mean its coming real soon or it still took time?

We are pretty much at the same stage but nothing yet on my end.

I've had some slight cramps but not frequently or in any pattern. The last ones I can remember were at the movies last week when we saw "The Queen". I joked with DH that these kids are half Irish and they don't like Queen Elizabeth II so they were complainingChat Icon

Should you call the doc just so they make a note of it?

Are you still on bedrest?

How often can you get off your feet?

Last week my doc said, as long as I get to week 35 (next Wed) they will do nothing to stop labor but would like them in there as long as possible.

Re: so,...I had contractions for over 2 hours last night!

I was only on bedrest that one day. Thank goodness!
It would have been difficult--2 kids 2 diff schools--no buses.
Anyhow..I finally read something. I have been avoiding it since its always negative and they said rest alot from 20 weeks on.
So...i am laying down right now for a few.
I have a bad habit of standing from 6 am to bedtime. I think thats what did it yesterday.
if it happens again I will def call.
Im 34 weeks so I think it should be ok but I will call next time.
Now...if the babies room could get done, the construction finished and 2 rooms painted everything will be peachy..think that can be pulled off in 1 week>

It must be difficult with two other children but please do listen to your body and stay off your feet for as much as possibleChat Icon

Even if you get up for a half hour, do chores, then sit down for 5 minutes, then back up again. That's what I try to do, scheduled breaks.

Crack the whip on whomever is doing the construction. We got our basement done in Dec/January, I lied about my due date and wrote in the contract that they must work consecutive days on the project. I just knew the last thing I'd want in the third trimester was all of the noise from the power tools.Chat Icon Chat Icon My DH worked with his parents feverishly to get the floor put in (it was his first major home improvement project).

Re: so,...I had contractions for over 2 hours last night!

no u are right...def. I am resting alot more now. I def want to hold on 2 more weeks if not three, just to give me time and not go to Nicu.
Stan did all the work upstairs and got it all done.
The problem is..now we have to shift the two kids to those rooms--paint and redo the old ones for the twins.
If it is not done in time its ok. They don't need a room immed.
I just am not used to not being able to "nest"
When I had my son, I loved everything being done and being able to sit and stare at the room,
I guess reality is..on the 3rd and 4th kid there is no real down time!
so..I am going to rest more..who the heck would need bedrest now!?! Chat Icon
