Some Food Blogs ... food 'myth' debunking & 'primal eating' **this is diet/fitness, not 'food'
I didn't want to hijack the other thread, but Robin was so sweet to sound interested in my food conspiracy theories... Yes, the government & big business is keeping us fat...
As mentioned in another thread, I basically don't eat processed food, which eliminates A LOT of carbs... I follow the ‘Primal Diet’ (Paleo is another one & I think it’s really similar). Basically if it is natural, you can eat it so fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, grass fed beef, free range organic chicken, non farmed fish... potatoes are OK but yams are preferred & they don’t really encourage rice or cheese… Organic eggs & organic butter, some who follow it say it's OK, some don't really do any dairy. Coconut oil & olive oil are encouraged, I don’t think any other oils are. Real maple syrup & honey are the preferred sweeteners. Definitely out are breads, pastas, cereals, sugar, corn… these things are ‘addictive’ and don’t ‘do’ anything for you. I LOVED the movie “Fathead” because it explained all of this body physiology & biology in really simple terms. Here are some of the food blogs I go on:

Thank you for the wealth of information. I wrote down all those blogs to check out.
I follow a similar diet, however I do have a day or two a week that I let myself have sugar and bread...mostly when we go out to eat. When training for a marathon I need the carbs, and haven't found an alternative that keeps me feeling fueled and not heavy during my runs. The sugar is VERY addictive, I can't believe how my body responds to it!
Thanks again, this is great!
