Some questions about the milk price hike...
1. Does this mean Starbucks will be even MORE expensive?
2. If they are equating the hike with gas prices, does that mean by Xmas we will be spending 5.00 a gallon for gas as well?????

Yes, all products that contain milk will eventually go up in price. Ice cream and yes, even baby formula.
An increase in price of an item that is a vital ingredient in the production of so many goods and services (ex. oil) and one that has no cheaper or more readily available substitute product, causes an overall inflationary pattern across the economy, the price of all good and services that use said item in their production will increase.
That's my economic lesson for the day. Hey, I'm supposed to be on leave from teaching
