some re questions....
OK, I just got the call from my ob/gyn that my blood work came back with slightly elevated levels in the hemoglobin a1c test (I was 6.6 and normal is between 4-6) and also elevated thyroid antibodies and that my next step is to make an appt. with an RE, which I did for this Tuesday.
I am so crushed but I know in my heart that is the next step for us. We have been ttc and are in cycle 6, I have been using OPK's since CD11 (currently CD19) and all have been negative.
Does anyone know what would cause these levels (especially the hemoglobin) to be off? What could this mean for me? Thank you!

Re: some re questions....
I don't know a lot about it but high hemoglobin could be caused by dehydration-were you well hydrated when you did this test?
Elevated thyroid antibodies could affect ability to conceive but should be easliy managed.

Re: some re questions....
I never heard of those issues so I searched the web and found this on shape.com http://www.shape.com/healthy_living/pregnancy_timetable.html
Your blood sugar If you have diabetes, a family history of the disease, or certain risk factors such as extra weight or irregular periods, request a hemoglobin A1c test-it'll reveal your average glucose levels for the past three months. "High levels could mean your body is producing extra insulin, which can interfere with ovulation and lead to pregnancy complications," says Potter. It also ups your risk for gestational diabetes, which affects up to 7 percent of pregnant women.
It also popped up on some PCOS sites. Don't mean to worry you, and I HTH!

That is what I was finding also....I am overweight, I have a feeling that may be the cause of my issues. I guess going to an RE is the right thing to do in the end. Thank you! Hopefully everything can be easily managed (and I lose some weight in the meantime!!)

Hgb A1c has nothing to do with ur hemoglobin it has to do with ur blood sugar. Which has to do with ur panceras u need to see an endocrinologist hence the RE.
