This happened to me before I had my first son. When I went at 11 weeks there was no heartbeat and they said the baby must have misscarried around 9 weeks. I had the d&C and I was fine. I was very nervous because I had never had any procedures in my life. I slept for a whole day afterwards and made sure I kept hydrated. A few months later I was pregnant with DS#1 who is now 2 1/2 and I have a 7 month old as well.
Good luck, you'll be fine.
