Somebody ransacked my car last night!
I always lock my car, but last night I came in with a bunch of packages and couldn't hit the key lock. I intended to go back out to lock it, but forgot...
Dh always leaves the car unlocked...
Anyway, I get in the car this morning and I notice all the stuff that was in the center compartment was thrown all over the seats  My first thought was that Dh must have been looking for something before he left for work. Then I noticed the ashtray and lighter compartments open. I don't think I have ever opened them...I realized someone had been in my car...
I checked and the EZ pass was still there, and so were the 3 pairs of designer sunglasses...so they were just looking for cash
Thank goodness I don't keep money in the car!

OMG!!!
I'm so sorry this happened. My car got stolen once years ago. They caught some young punk driving it with the hood up. I felt violated- so I know how you feel.

some crackhead came into my neighborhood on new years eve & stole money & stuff out of all the cars he could find that were unlocked. I had a huge shopping bag of clothes I bought for my son for christmas that were the wrong size & needed to be exchanged.
They pulled the creep over in his hometown a few days later & he had several hundred dollars in CHANGE on him, plus clothes & other stuff he stole from cars. I never got any of my stuff back, but at least they caught his drug addict azz. He stole money out of my son's truck too, but left stuff like a bank book & other stuff my son shouldn't have even had in his car.
It is a very violating feeling, make sure you make a police report so if they catch the person he/she will be charged with a greater crime, ask your neighbors too.
